About Alexandre Fischer
Mr. Fischer has always wanted to help people overcome injustices. This led to a career as an international attorney. “I loved the law,†he says. “I bought my first legal text book when I was 11 years old and that was my favourite bedtime reading! Naturally, I became a lawyer, specializing in litigation.â€
But after a few years, Alex felt something was lacking—a spiritual dimension to his work. He recalls one day, while working on an employment abuse case, his client was in tears on the phone. So, he told her that he would win a large settlement for her. But, of course, that kind of reassurance could not stop her tears. What really needed to be dealt with was her anger and hurt feelings over the disrespect and poor treatment she’d received. But, as a lawyer, he had no way to deal with those things.
Knowing something of Christian Science as a prayerful approach to finding solutions, Alex realised it could have helped the woman to deal with her situation and mental anguish, to feel complete peace. A few years later, he exchanged his law profession for that of Christian Science practitioner in order to do just that: to pray with people to perceive God better as all-loving, and feel more of God’s divine love in their lives. He loves praying with people and seeing problems harmoniously resolved in this manner.
Christian Science follows the teachings of Jesus as recorded in the Bible, as explained in the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, written by Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of the Christian Science movement. Alex’s talks will explore both the Bible and Science and Health to see how a fresh perception of God can be part of anyone’s life and bring healing. He will also share examples of healings from his own experience.
